The regulation sets a transition period from January 20, 2025, to January 20, 2028, with specific intermediate deadlines.
New Box has chosen to act early: starting with orders received from October 1, 2025, our production will already be compliant, with items manufactured in BPA-NIA / PFAS-NIA.
• BPA (Bisphenol A): a chemical that has been used for decades across industrial sectors, including the internal coatings of metal containers. Its use is now severely restricted due to potential health and environmental risks.
• PFAS (per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances): a family of compounds known for their resistance to heat, water, and grease, but increasingly under scrutiny due to their environmental persistence and possible health impacts.
• NIA (Non Intentionally Added): indicates that BPA or PFAS are not intentionally added to the new coatings and formulations, ensuring safer solutions that comply with the latest regulations.
With this decision, New Box ensures:
• Early compliance with European regulations.
• Greater safety of our products.
• Unchanged quality, features, and performance, with the possibility of further improvements thanks to next-generation materials.
Completing the transition well ahead of schedule sends a strong, clear signal to the market:
New Box aims to be a benchmark for safety, reliability, and sustainability.
Our clients can rely on compliant products, with no compromise on quality or performance.
